Errol Spence has been one of boxing’s top rising stars in the 147 Welterweight and is trained under former professional boxer Derrick James.

Mikey Garcia is regarded as a well-rounded boxer with strong fundamentals, and adaptability. Although his fighting style may look basic and fundamental, he’s very methodical and calculating in how he fights. He is trained by his father Eduardo and his brother, former world champion Robert Garcia.
Summary
The reason why I’m so interested in this fight, is what if just one fighter is much better than the other? It can be the young, rising-star, heavier fighter – Errol Spence Jr. that is much better. Or, it can be the older, more-experienced, lighter fighter – Mikey Garcia that is much better. We will not know until fight night.
Many people are sleeping on Mikey Garcia.
The way I see it, there’s a reason why Mikey Garcia is taking this fight. I know that if Mikey wants an easier fight, or a fight with bigger payday, he could have easily done that in Lightweight (ex. Vasyl Lomachencko). Instead, Mikey chose to move up 2 weight division to face the boogeyman in the welterweight division that is Errol Spence Jr. I say that, the more experienced Mikey Garcia sees something in Errol Spence that we don’t know.
Mikey Garcia moving up two weight classes from Lightweight (135lbs) to Welterweight (147lbs) is nothing new. There have been many boxers that were Quintuple Champions – boxers that moved up weight divisions, fought other champions, defeat them and take their championship belts such as: Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquaio, etc.
The question is, how is Mikey Garcia is going to adjust to Errol Spence being a much bigger opponent? Mikey Garcia did mention in his interviews that he knows Errol Spence might balloon up in weight 5-13lbs heavier than the welterweight 147lb limit come fight night.
Errol Spence is a monster when it comes to applying pressure, breaking down opponents with body shots and imposing his will. He will not be an easy opponent for Mikey Garcia to beat.
I see this fight will going the full 12 rounds. I don’t see either fighter getting knocked out. There might be a knockdown, however I know this fight is going to be very technical from round 1.
