Technique Tuesday: Use Your Jab to Set Up Everything

The jab isn’t just a punch, it’s your setup tool.

If you’re only using it to score, you’re missing its real value.

What the Jab Does

  • Controls distance
  • Creates openings
  • Forces reactions
  • Sets up power punches

How to Use It Better

1. Double Jab to Close Distance
First jab measures, second lands

2. Jab to the Body
Brings hands down

3. Feint the Jab
Creates reactions

4. Jab Before Every Combination
Build structure

Drill

Heavy bag:
Jab → Cross
Double jab → Hook or Cross
Jab → Body shot

Final Thoughts

The jab makes everything easier.

Train smart,
